Food Check Out Week!

Once a year, your county Farm Bureau celebrates Food Check-out Week to bring attention to the contribution made by America’s farmers and ranchers to our food supply. Think of it as Tax Freedom Day for food. (By the way, Tax Freedom Day was on April 13th this year – 2 months after Food Check Out Day!)

Starting in 2009, the timing of Food Check-Out Week is not related to the date Americans have earned enough money to pay for their food for a year. The third week of February was selected for Food Check-Out Week as a bridge to National Nutrition Month in March.
